Algebra I is the foundation—the skills acquired in this course contain the basic knowledge needed for all future high school math courses. The material covered in this course is important, but everyone can do it. Everyone can have a good time solving the hundreds of real-world problems algebra can help answer. Course activities make the numbers, graphs, and equations more real. The content in this course is tied to real-world applications like sports, travel, business, and health.This course is designed to give students the skills and strategies to solve all kinds of mathematical problems. Students will also acquire the confidence needed to handle everything high school math has in store for them. Algebra I emphasizes the importance of algebra in everyday life through hundreds of real-world examples. Assessments are designed to ensure that your understanding goes beyond rote memorization of steps and procedures. Upon successful course completion, you will have a strong foundation in Algebra I and will be prepared for other higher level math courses.

Take a deep breath. Though we may take seemingly effortless functions of the body such as breathing for granted, the human body is constantly working as a system to maintain balance and good health. Anatomy and Physiology will give you a better understanding of the structure and functions of the human body. This course presents topics, such as immunity, reproduction, cardiovascular health, and musculoskeletal functions, using 21st-century content, graphics, interactives, and videos. Students will be inspired by real-world phenomena about health topics and career connections opportunities from entry-level positions to the doctoral level. In each module of Anatomy and Physiology, students explore the organization of the human body and how each organ and body system functions and interacts. Students acquire the knowledge necessary to understand the body's internal functions and
interconnections and what is necessary to maintain overall health and wellness.

AP Research, the second course in the AP Capstone experience, allows students to deeply explore an academic topic, problem, issue, or idea of individual interest. Students design, plan, and implement a yearlong investigation to address a research question. Through this inquiry, they further the skills they acquired in the AP Seminar course by learning research methodology, employing ethical research practices, and accessing, analyzing, and synthesizing information. Students reflect on their skill development, document their processes, and curate the artifacts of their scholarly work through a process and reflection portfolio. The course culminates in an academic paper of 4,000–5,000 words (accompanied by a performance, exhibit, or product where applicable) and a presentation with an oral defense.
The AP exam fee is not included in the course fee.
Students are strongly recommended to study on average about 8-10 hours per week.
PREREQUISITES: Students must have successfully completed the CTM AP Seminar course and be recommended by the AP Seminar teacher.

Over those two years, I have taken four AP courses and I can honestly say that AP Psychology was my favourite one and also the one that I feel the most accomplished for completing. Though I do not know my scores from the Final Exam yet, I can say with all confidence that this course has taught me very valuable lessons - not just many interesting facts about psychology but also how to cooperate with another student and how to manage my time (though I learned that way too late but, if I take the last year in consideration, it can still be counted as progress). AP Psychology is surely not an easy course but it made me realise that psychology is indeed something I want to study at university and a career I would like to pursue. I believe this is also the last AP course I am going to take so I would like to sincerely express my appreciation for you for being my instructor for 3 out of the 4 courses, Tereza :) Thank you for being patient with me and guiding me even if I fell behind many times, I am very grateful for you!
