CTM University Counseling Program
Exploring Destinations and Preparing for University Applications

Are you considering going abroad for your university studies?

Applying to and being accepted at an international university is a competitive and complex process that requires personalized guidance and expertise. The best time to start the process is one to two years before high school graduation, ideally during septima / pre-graduation year.

The CTM University Counseling Program will open your eyes to the world of universities and explain each country’s admissions process. An experienced American certified university counsellor with a high success rate of helping students gain access to the world’s leading universities will coach you every step of the way and introduce you to her unique framework that encompasses academic, financial, social and emotional components to find the best-fit universities for you to achieve your academic potential and career goals. Under your counselor’s guidance, you will learn how to select the best-fit universities and prepare an outstanding application. 

6 group sessions, 3 individual sessions

December 2023 – May 2024

Six Group sessions online:  January 3, January 17, January 31, February 14, February 28, March 6 2024 from 19:00 – 20:00

BONUS: Our students will have the unique opportunity to take part in discussions with counsellors from selected universities abroad. These extra meetings will be held throughout the course.

Three Individual sessions online: December 2023, March 2024 and May 2024

December 2023 – first one-on-one sessions with our expert counsellor where you will get to know each other better and discuss your hopes and direction of your university studies.

Wednesday, January 3 - Introductory session and creating your CV

Wednesday, January 17 - Study in the Netherlands

Wednesday, January 31 - Study in the UK, Writing the Personal Statement

Wednesday, February 14 - Study in the US, Answering the Common App Prompt

Wednesday, February 28 - Study in Denmark, Ireland, Austria, Spain, Germany (90min session with a break, countries will be selected based on preferences of students)

Wednesday, March 6 - Financial Aid

March 2024 – second individual session with our expert counsellor

May 2024 – third individual session with our expert counsellor

31 May 2024 – end of program, after this date, it is not possible to arrange one-on-one sessions

What to expect: 

• Students will understand the country-specific admissions and application process in North America – USA and Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, and other European countries (including Austria, Germany, and Spain).
• Students will receive strategic guidance and university recommendations according to each student’s unique academic objectives, financial budget and career goals.
• Students will learn to use UCAS, Studielink, CAO, Common App and other application platforms.
• Students will receive the toolkit to be used throughout the CTM Counseling Program to define their choices and manage deadlines.
• Students will learn how to select universities using a framework that considers academic, financial, social, and emotional fit.
• Students will discuss their university list individually and receive personalized guidance on their selections based on their personality, learning style and career objectives. 
• Students will create their CV and receive feedback from their CTM counsellor.
• Students will get detailed and personalized feedback on their CV and motivational questions for the application. 
• Students will be guided to prepare their action plan of activities necessary for a successful university application (letter of recommendation, language test, etc.).

The students that took the CTM University Counselling Program greatly appreciated learning about university courses and student life abroad and welcomed perfecting their personal statement/motivation letter and CV under the professional guidance of an experienced professional counsellor.  

 Important:

To make the most of the program, students will be asked to work on university preparation assignments which will be used in the one-to-one meetings with their counsellor. Throughout the program, we expect and require a high degree of student engagement and that students fulfil the tasks. The finished application documents, including writing a high-quality personal statement and or CV, depend on the level of student input, involvement and effort in the preparation process. Students should incorporate the feedback given to them on their first draft of materials before submitting their final work and consulting with their CTM university counsellor.

Also, please be advised that students interested in individual counselling and assistance with the processing of applications to specific universities can arrange this counselling directly with the CTM university counsellor after the completion of the program, however, this counselling is not included in the CTM University Counselling Program course fees and is arranged separately directly with the CTM university counsellor.

In addition, there will be no makeup sessions for missed group sessions and we have a 48h cancellation policy for one-on-one sessions – students can reschedule their one-on-one sessions up to 48 hours before the planned session. After this deadline, no makeup one-on-one sessions will be available.

Please remember that in order to take full advantage of the program's benefits, students need to take a proactive approach.
